Shopify survey apps compared (2026): which post-purchase survey app fits your store
By Peter Coolen · · 5 min read
The best Shopify survey app depends on one question: what will you do with the answers? If you want attribution and feedback on the Thank You page at a small price, you don’t need an enterprise platform. If you run surveys by email, SMS and in-store too, you need one of the multi-channel apps. This page compares six apps on the things that actually differ. Prices and review counts are from the Shopify App Store, checked 25 October 2026; we build one of these apps (Cool& Post Purchase Survey), so check our claims against the listings.
The short version
- Cheapest with everything included: Cool& Post Purchase Survey (free up to 50 responses/month, $14 for 1,000, $24 unlimited; revenue per answer, skip logic, Flow and Klaviyo in every plan)
- Flat unlimited price, most placements: Grapevine ($25/month flat; Thank You page, email, POS; Built for Shopify badge)
- Largest free tier: OrderSurvey (free up to 100 responses/month; Thank You, Order status and POS)
- Multi-channel plus AI analysis: Zigpoll (free up to 50 responses, then from $39; on-site, email, SMS, POS)
- Enterprise attribution and benchmarks: Fairing (free up to 200 orders, then $49; Shopify Plus Certified) and KnoCommerce (from $19, no free plan; entry plan limited to 1 survey of 3 questions)

What actually differs
Price structure. Three models exist: per response (Cool& Post Purchase Survey, Zigpoll, OrderSurvey), flat (Grapevine) and per order volume (Fairing). For a store under 1,000 orders a month, per-response pricing is cheapest; past that, a flat plan wins. Watch for entry plans that cap questions (KnoCommerce’s $19 plan: one survey, three questions).
Revenue behind answers. Counting “Instagram: 412” tells you where customers come from. Seeing “Instagram: $28,428, AOV $69” next to “Podcast: $19,158, AOV $103” tells you where the money comes from. Fairing and Zigpoll do this on higher tiers; Cool& Post Purchase Survey does it on the free plan.
Placements. If you only need the Thank You page, every app here works. If you also want to survey by email, in-store on POS, or on product pages, Zigpoll and Grapevine cover the most ground.
Automation. A Shopify Flow trigger means a survey answer can tag the customer, add an order note or email your team without another tool. Klaviyo sync means answers become profile properties you can segment on.
Languages. Every app lets you write survey text in any language. Only Cool& Post Purchase Survey runs its admin in Dutch as well as English, and ships its ready-made surveys in both.
How to choose in five minutes
- Count your monthly orders and multiply by 0.4 (a typical Thank You page response rate). That’s your responses per month; pick the cheapest plan that covers it.
- Decide if you need any placement other than the Thank You page. If not, drop the multi-channel apps.
- Check the app saves each answer with its order. Without that you can’t compare channels by revenue later.
- Install two with free plans, run the same “How did you hear about us?” survey for a week, and keep the one whose dashboard you actually open.
FAQ
Which Shopify survey app is free? Cool& Post Purchase Survey (50 responses/month), OrderSurvey (100), Zigpoll (50) and Fairing (up to 200 orders) have free tiers as of October 2026. Grapevine and KnoCommerce offer trials.
Does Shopify have a built-in survey? No. Shopify Forms builds storefront pop-ups and inline forms, not Thank You page surveys. All six apps here add a block through checkout extensibility, which works on every plan.
What’s the difference between a Thank You page and an Order status page survey? The Thank You page shows once, right after payment; the Order status page can be revisited from the confirmation email. Thank You page surveys get more first answers; Order status surveys catch customers who come back to track an order.
Can I switch apps later? Yes. Every app here exports responses to CSV. Keep your answer options identical across apps so historical data stays comparable.
